This first primary school is located in the Badagry area of Lagos state which lies along the Atlantic coast. This building was established in 1845.
History has it that this Badagry region rejected western education for a long time, but the Anglican mission through church missionary society then made acceptance possible. St Thomas Anglican nursery and primary school made possible the existence of the first primary school in Nigeria in 1845.
