The 20th of September, 2024, was “A Green Friday to remember.” This was a day set aside to celebrate the life and legacy of late Mrs. Beatrice Edebharia Evbota. Known for her warmth, generosity, and unyielding strength, Mrs. Evbota touched many lives throughout her years, and this day was dedicated to reflecting on her impact.
The funeral service took place at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Herbert Macaulay Way, Yaba, Lagos. It was a solemn yet vibrant service, which was followed by a serene interment at the Vaults and Gardens in Lekki, where her family and close friends bade their final goodbyes. In attendance were not only her immediate family but also guests from across the country and around the world. They came together to honour the woman who had left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Guests gathered at the NIKOMS Event Centre in Yaba, after the internment, for a celebration of life that reflected the rich tapestry of Mrs. Evbota’s existence. It became clear that she was a pillar of love and wisdom, as tributes flowed from family and friends. Her surviving children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and sisters felt both sorrow and pride in the legacy she left behind.
