Cocoa House

This house was completed in 1965 at a height of 105 meter’s located in the largest city of Ibadan. This building is known to be one of the tallest buildings in Africa. It is a 24 storey building that has one of the best museums.

It was said to be built from proceeds of commodities such as cocoa rubber, timber and others present in Western Africa.

 

 

 

Bowers Towers

This historic tower happens to be the tallest building in Ibadan in which you can view the whole of Ibadan from its top.

It is said that if you ever visit Ibadan without visiting the Bowers Tower, then your tour in Ibadan is certainly not yet complete.

U.I. Zoological Zoo

This zoo has its location within the University of Ibadan campus, Ibadan, Oyo state. History has it that this zoo was established in 1948 as part of the department of Zoology which was primarily meant to support teaching and research work in the department over time.

This zoo has lions, baboons, snakes, hyenas, foxes, porcupines, monkeys, horses, crocodiles, different sorts of wild birds, etc. If you have never seen a live wild animal, this is a zoo you should visit.

Agodi Gardens

This garden is located at Parliament road, Ibadan. It occupies up to 150 acres of land and was created in 1967. It has a nice attraction, picnic and garden area, a natural stream, clean swimming polls and natural air space with palms all around it. If you are looking for a calm place to cool off, this is one place you should think about visiting in Ibadan.

Mapo Hall

This is the major hall where activities like wedding ceremonies and more are carried out in Ibadan.

Ibadan Museum

This museum is known to be the national museum of unity, and happens to be one of the famous museums in Ibadan city.

This museum is located in a conducive and safe environment, and houses some ancient monuments  with historic stories about them. The museum is open to interested persons every day between the hours of 10am to about 5pm.

The museum houses four main galleries namely: the Unity Gallery, Masquerade Gallery, Pottery Gallery and the Yoruba Gallery.

These galleries have interesting amounts of historical artefacts in them. If you visit Ibadan, this museum, with rich art galleries made up of artefacts that have been in existence for over 3,000 years, is one that should be visited.
