This Natural swimming pool is located along Ijebu Ode to Epe express way, it was established in February 23rd, 1937 by the colonial masters after a war that took place in 1891 – 1892. It takes about 50 minutes from Berger Lagos through Sagamu. It got his source from a town called ILONE, a village which is 20km away from Ijebu Ode. History has it that a woman who was a sojourner, came to the village looking for water and she was offered water out of the little they had because there was lack of water.
The kind gesture given to the sojourner, made her proclaim blessing upon them that they shall never lack of water and she disappeared. The spot at which she disappeared happened to be the source of the river. The river is referred to as African River Jordan because it is a source of Cure and Healing.
